DALLAS COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) – Some Dallas ISD parents are having no luck Wednesday getting bus route information for the upcoming school year beginning Monday.

Dallas County Schools, which runs the buses for DISD, says it’s in the process of updating bus route information for transport for special needs and choice school students.

Dallas County Schools says its system is overloaded and there are delays in getting the information online.

That mean families of 3,000 school children will have to be contacted via phone, to inform them of bus locations for students.

DISD will operate a call center to contact parents.

Dallas County Schools released this statement on the matter Wednesday afternoon:

We are currently experiencing high demand volume causing periodic delays to the online system when parents are accessing bus routes for some special education students and some magnet/school choice students. We know how important it is to receive your student’s information and are currently working to correct this issue. In the meantime, Dallas ISD/Dallas County Schools will directly contact impacted parents this Thursday through Saturday to provide updates.

Also, bus drivers primarily serving special education students will contact those parents directly. If a call is not received for those students by Friday, parents can contact 214-944-4572.
