WEATHERFORD (CBSDFW.COM) – Several students were injured after a school bus in Parker County slid down an embankment and into a ditch.
The crash happened about 7:30 this morning. According to the driver, he temporarily lost control after the right rear tire of the bus left the roadway.
There were 24 Weatherford Independent School District students onboard at the time of the crash, along Sweet Springs Road just east of FM 2421.
The students ranged in grade from kindergarten through sixth grade.
Three children were taken to Weatherford Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
The school bus, a 2014 Freightliner, is owned by First Student Buses.
