PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) – For the second time this school year a Plano ISD student has been left on a bus instead of being dropped off at school.

The child was found Thursday afternoon at the district’s bus barn.

The district has not released the name of the child, but said the student was a four-year-old special needs child who didn’t make it to Isaacs Early Childhood School.

The child was picked up from their home around 11:45 am Thursday and discovered by a second shift bus driver at 2 pm.

A bus driver and assistant on the bus have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Plano parent Tiffani Lewis said she was in disbelief. Her son, four-year-old Nick, was found stranded on a bus in the district’s bus barn in late October. Lewis said her son had been there for over three hours.

“The (transportation director) said he was going to make sure it didn’t happen again and it did in less than six months,” said Lewis.

Lewis said the bus driver in her son’s case also failed to drop her son off at Isaacs Early Childhood School and when she reviewed the bus surveillance video she said her son was in plain sight.

She said her son was seated three rows behind the driver and could be seen moving around and, at one point, coughing.

Lewis said something more needed to be done by the district. She said this latest incident, happening so soon after her son’s, was unacceptable.
