DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The hunt is on for a child sexual predator. Police are trying to find the man who attacked a 14-year-old girl after she got off a school bus.
The attack happened last week after the girl, a student at Dallas’ Hector P. Garcia Middle School, got off the school bus at 500 8th Street.
The girl told police the man grabbed her arm and forced her to walk three blocks to Lake Cliff Park. The man sexually assaulted the girl at the park and ran away when he heard people approaching.
Police say they do not have a detailed description of the man because he wore a ski mask during the attack.
Parents in the area are concerned, especially since there are several schools within a couple of miles of the park.
Mom Lizette Garcia said she is on guard and will be watching her kids when out in the neighborhood. “[I will] probably go to another park maybe? Just carry something with me to be safe, because you never know. [I’ll] watch my back a little bit more, try to stay where there’s more people around and try not to come later on at night.”
Anyone with information about the attack or the suspect is asked to call detectives at the Dallas Police Department at 214-671-4453.
